Topstep Climb Higher
“Climb Higher” was the second part of the Topstep campaign, this time shifting the focus from mountains to a cityscape. My role was to design a procedural system for creating buildings that could transform from normal city architecture into large glass monoliths. These monoliths represented the pillars of the stock market, growing and falling to reflect different market trends. With an entire city to fill, Houdini’s procedural workflow gave me the flexibility to generate lots of different buildings while still having plenty of control over how each one looked and transformed.
Design Process
My role focused purely on the procedural design and animation of the buildings. The assets were then passed over to the team who built, lit and rendered the final cityscape in Maya. The renders shown here are my Houdini previews created for dailies during development.
